Its my last day in Swaziland today and I really don't want to leave! I've been having such a good time and have met so many cool people.
Last week I was meant to be going to the orphanage but because of various reasons I didn't go until Friday. When we turned up we were introduced to all the children and told about why some of them have ended up there, one girl has such bad burns on her face and its because her parents thought she was a witch and so burnt down her house with her in it. There are two really sweet babies there and so me and gemma spent most of the morning playing with them. We were just sitting down playing with Moses and China and then two official looking men turned up to evict all the children from the orphanage! Apparently the lady in charge hadn't paid the rent for about 3 months so they all have to leave. Luckily Gemma is a lawyer so she read the papers and managed to argue to let them stay for another month, but all the orphans are still going to have to find new homes. So my first day at the orphanage was also my last day and it was a very upsetting experience.
For the rest of the week I've been livin' it up though! Last friday I went to "House on Fire", probably the coolest club I've ever been to! It has a fountain and a tower and an outside dance floor and a massive inside dance floor with seats up the side like an amphitheatre! It was so fun!
I also went to see some traditional Swazi dancing which was interesting! It's been so hot here I have spent a lot of the time lying in the hammock at the lodge reading Peter Kay's autobiography or at the Royal Swazi (a really nice hotel) by the pool sunbathing. I sound like the worst volunteer ever, but I have been doing productive things I just don't have the time to write them all!
I have to go now and try to send an 8kg package home before Christmas. I went to the market and got so excited about how cheap everything was I bought loads of presents and then afterwards realised it would be about double the amount I spent on the presents to send them all home. Never mind!
I hope everyone's OK, I'll update again as soon as I've done something interesting In Australia!See ya xxxxx
