Day2 Fishing and Jungle camping!!!
After breakfast we went down the river wildlife spotting to a nice little lake where the water was clean but there were still many little fish who want to bite you! You just can't get it out of your head that in the water are piranhas, crocodiles, anacondas and all other sorts of crazy animals!!!
So when I say we went for a swim I mean we jumped off the boat into the water panicking like little girls trying to get back into the boat as fast as we could! The guide and the boat drivers must have thought we were little wussy's..... We were! Lol
After the swim we went fishing, which was just a stick with some line on it and some pieces of chicken! I caught about a dozen of tiny little fish and only one piranha that I never got into the boat so no pictures but I saw it!!!
We returned back to camp with the fish to be prepared for lunch and they were delicious. We pretty much played soccer the entire afternoon...... Because of course that's why I wanted to come on a Amazon jungle tour......to play "football".......
It was fun though, having the gringos against the locals. I got to be on the local team and of course we won!!! Yeah!
We were to camp in the jungle tonight! We were already to go well it was still a little bit sunny but we were not ready because "the potatoes had to cook"........ So we never left after it was already dark, we go to one spot it's too muddy, we go to the second spot it's also too muddy, then we find the third spot not so muddy! In the pitch black with crazy mosquitoes we walk into the jungle to try to find some good trees to tie hammocks to and make camp! Once we find a spot we have to take the machetes and cut down all of the small trees and bushes around the area. After we had our hammocks set up we had a little fire and cooked dinner. Chicken and potatoes! After dinner we went out in the boat alligator hunting and George definitely impressed us and caught three alligators one being almost a meter long! We all got to hold them and got cool pictures. When we returned to our hammocks, a giant spider had crawled inside of Joshes mosquito net, of course he was the only one terrified of spiders! Sleeping in a hammock in the middle of the Amazon jungle was one of the most uncomfortable and horrifying things I have ever done........also.....It had started raining in the middle of the night, thank goodness it didn't rain it too hard because we had no protection!
Needless to say, it was an experience I will never ever forget!!!
