On Gili Trawangan also known as Gili T which is the crazy island. But there's three, Gili T, Gili Air and Gili meno. However on Gili T lots of partying, booze, and drugs as there are no Police here. Beaches are nice, and the water is so warm and clear. Went to a reggae bar on our first night which was brilliant. Live band singing all the reggae classics. I must say the locals love to chew my ears. Can't go anywhere on this island without someone complimenting my hair or just chatting and asking where I'm from. It's exhausting! Also they shout out "hey long hair, long life, long banana"! Funny at first but now it's just annoying.
Our homestay isn't great, and theres loads of cockroaches everywhere, i must kill at least one a day. Hired bicycles to cycle around the island which was cool. Although my arse was in bits as the road around the island isn't great. Nice that theres no motorbikes but theres horse and carriage and everyone on bicycles. Had a chilled one at the outdoor cinema on the beach. Film wasn't great but it was cool to just fall asleep under the stars.
Went on two dives, the first one was called 'Shark Point', and yes i saw a few small sharks and one bigger one. The visibility was great and so warm, a really nice dive. Each dive cost £25 which is pretty good.
Second dive had really pretty coral. Loads of small fish, huge turtle (same size as me), sting ray and clown fish. I'm getting much better at conserving my air so i am able to stay down for 50 minutes. The food here is great, just pay 20,000 rupees which is just over a £1. And you get to choose five options, mostly veg for me with rice. All of it is so tasty, and I'm so scared for when it get to Australia and not being able to each for a £1 a meal. Went out on our final night out and bumped into some of the diving people. I also met a few people from Leicester, and one of them was best mates with one my best mates, so weird.
