Okay, so im in Namibia, just to let you know if you hadn't already guessed... and I would like to again if I have said this already, but I appologize for any grammer blips that are most likely to occur in this blog!
SO I am currently sitting in a small internet cafe that does amazing mochas in SWAKOP! Its so cold here and windy, we are beside the sea :D and its amazing and flower of Scotland just came on...hm. We have just been to the beach with the grade 7's, they are all so lovely, I dont want them to leave :( oh and their dancing.... just wait and see the videos!
After a long, uncomfy, overnight flight, we finally arrived in Johanesburg- I think I may try sleeping pills for the way back! Anyway, we didnt actually set foot their, just sat in the airport all bloomin day! THEN about hours later we landed in NAMIBIA! The heat just hit me. THough it may not have as I nearly mucked up going through customs, thankfully the guy didnt seem to be paying much attention and we got through. I think Catherin was going to kill me... ha! she didnt, or I wouldn't be typing this and you wouldn't be reading this, unless I someone was pretending to be then you would be reading this, well maybe not THIS exact blog...
SO first few days were spent in Windhoek in the Cardboard Box bagpackers! IT was lovely and relaxing, but all I really wanted to do was unpack! on our second night we went out to Joe's Beer house and had Zebra, Ostrich, Kudo, Crocodile and CHICKEN! :D haha I dont really recommend the Crocodile, but the Ostrich was good! Anyway, we didnt do much in Windhoek, just chilled by the pool and then on the FRiday me and Catherine jumped into the Buckie for the long, squished 6 hour journey to Otjikondo! I think I stuck to the seat, it was so hot!!!!
OTJIKDONO... what can I say? I have too many words and not enough time :O noooo. Well it is officially the most magical place in the world. I absoloutly love it here. The weather is hot, like really hot, maybe too hot, the staff are lovely, the sunsets are beautiful and the children are just amazing. I miss them all already and I have only been away for a day, how sad... SO yes, when the children arrived on the Tuesday they actually ran right at us, one of them jumped on me, though im not sure who it was and thats annoying me! haha. Oh but you should see them run, they are so fast, even the little grade ones, little bullets they are!
I may not get everything written here, but over the year hopefully it will get done! I have now been hear 2 months and it has gone so quickly, far too quickly! We have done so much. Taught so many lessons, done so much lesson planning and laughed so much. We kept getting asked why we are always smiling :D Because Im SO HAPPY! Our missions for this term have been to do the grade seven farewell dance and song. Both are done, now we just have to perfect them, we have just at such a great time doing them with the grade sevens and such a laugh. Their dancing is amazing and well, I hope their singing is, it is but the song needs practiced! ach it will be fine! and then there is the nativity that we have been doing! Lots and lots of work, dancing, singing and misbehaving children! but it will be worth it in the end, I shall let you know how it goes :) SO much has happend to me, not all nice. YOu have to be strict with the children, which is hard, but hey, im going to he a teacher! I love it how if a lesson goes completely pair shaped, the children just forget about it later on and just have a laugh with you. Oh and I have tried to play football with them, but as many of you may know who have seen me play in the Stow 5's, my football skills aren't quite up to scratch... hah. The way the teachers deal with the children and even with their own children is so different from home. I seen a grade on boy get beat, I was so upset and just sat in the middle of the hall hugging him, he was in tears and so now half the school has seen me cry! oh dear.
Right, I have four minutes left and so much more to say/ The flat is tidy, we eat past and cabbage, sometimes eggs if we remember them and there is giant spiders and snakes in trees! I will write more, but just ask mum, she usually knows everything as everytime I phone her I get a small interview! Necxt break is CHristmas so I will speak to you all then, or maybe tomorrow morning before I leave, hopefully I will have tome to add a bit more. Im just going to go and put some photos up and videos.
LOve you all, miss you all and see you soon
Xxxx JOrdan!!!! :D
