Ok I only have 20 mins so I'm not going to check this for mistakes, its really expensive to use the interent in this cafe!
Im still in dresden, I started off hating it, now i realise its a pretty cool place even if people arent as frienldy here as I would like them to be.
I spent the first night sleeping in a cafe then spent the next 4 in a hostel which was very cheap to start with but after 4 nights I had spent about 60 euros in there. Not so good. Luckily on the 5th day I met a guy called Arndt. Very cool guy, hes letting me sleep at his flat completely free of charge. On My first day there we went to an old military base to play golf. Its fantastic having your own private golfing range :p The beer was flowing nicely and although I don't think I won it was a great laugh. There was me and arndt plus 2 girls, sandy nd I forget the other one.
Then I think it was the same night we had a bit of a party round the flat and had the 2 girls with us plus arndts flat mate and later this other girl maria came. Maria brought her guitar and for 2 hours we played some songs each. For half of that time I was sat open mouthed unable to comprehend what I was hearing. She plays folk / country style stuff and oh my god can she sing! Her fingerstyle is also something quite incredible, I really was amazed by her.
The next night we went to visit a guy called Ron who has some puppies for sale. Maria came to that to because she was having some trouble with the family and just needed to relax around friends. It was then that I was talking to arndt about her only to find out shes a lesbian. Along with the girls we had been playing golf with. My world fell apart! I can't help but feel this is a little counter productive spending so much time with these gay girls. But its like arndt said, "I would rather know these really cool gay girls than some average straight ones"... fair point I guess.
I must also mention that Ron makes cruiser style bicycles and I got to ride one of them to the golfing course. They are an extremely relaxed ride, you won't go anywhere fast on them, but who cares, they look damn cool! If I can get some pics of them before I leave Dresden I will!
As for when I leave, I have no idea, Arndt said I can stay for as long as I want to. Maybe just till the weekend after next, save up some money and head to Nuremburg. Dunno yet, the busking is difficult here but theres some good money to be made. I think I played for 2 hours today and made about 35 qiud. Then yesterday ended up doing more talking than playing and probably made about 20 in one hour. So its good, Im slowly saving up some cash now.
I was speaking to a lad who was juggling. The schools are on holiday for 2 weeks at the minute so he took the opportunity to hit the streets. Hes only 15, been juggling for 2 years I think and can already manage 6 balls! Needless to say I was very impressed by this. Cool guy, didnt speak much english but later when I was talking to him I met some of his school friends and this girl loved the english language and was waaay ahead of the game in being able to speak it. Nice girl.
One last thing before my time runs out here, I figured out an ingenious way ogf washing clothes at the hostel. Jonny the ever resourceful monkey removed the metal drain from the rooms shower and picked his least favoured sock to plug thehole he had made. I doubt people in their own homes really take a screwdriver to their shower to clean this part of it, and I doubt in the entire lifetime of the hostel it had ever been cleaned. In the end I had to throw the sock away, when it came out brown and smelling worse than a fat mans armpit, it was time to say goodbye. On the plus side I did get to clean all my stuff which is good :D
Some other stuff happened inbetween all that, but if I write down everything I do here then I have nothing to talk about when I get back :p
