Brisbane, or as the aussies call it 'bris-vegas' - outraged by this name. They got my hopes up at possibly finding some form of super casino resort the size of Kent, with built in theme parks giant hotels and all the other stuff the real vegas has - but no. Just a crappy casino no bigger than average. Hannah and i decided australian cities are a bit of a let down due to lack of culture/personality and you could effectivly be anywhere in the world, this is also applicable to brisbane, standard high rise place. On the upside our hostel was quite nice with a swimming pool. Pissed down with rain, were here for 3 nights, rained on 2 of them. Looked around the city etc, then on the last day went to the castlemaine brewery tour - much to my delight. Here they give you a history of not only XXXX but beer in general, take you on a tour of the brewery itself, then to there own bar with a variety of different XXXX beers/ales. Happy times. Hannah almost passed out in the factory due to the heat so skipped the rest of the tour and was taken through to the bar early (a plan i should have used) but this was wasted due to her not drinking! After being particularly un-impressed we left and headed north to a place called Noosa heads.
