Well its been a flying visit through malaysia. Came up from Singapore a week ago and headed for a small town called melaka. This was alrite, quiant historical kinda town, hostel was cheap as chips, although i was on high alert for the cockroaches - killed couple small ones then a lizard came inside.....which we kept indoors in order to eat the bugs which he must have as didnt see any more. Had a decent resturaunt where u picked skewered food from a buffet cart at 13p/stick, we had chicken, shrimp, king prawns, vegetables etc. Bring them all to ur table and drop them into a pot of bubbling satay sauce, which is in the middle, wait a couple minutes and ur ready to eat :-) We also went to a crocadile farm which was alrite, although we were more interested in the wild monkeys jumping around the trees. They also had a big circular tank with a few decent sized snakes inside, with a smal trap door to another little section with a fluffy bunny in....awaiting his end when the park decides to open the little door. Unforunatly this was the best melaka had to offer us so after two nights we headed to Kuala Lumpur.
This was much like the other big cities weve visited, big noisy and smelly. However cheap! Rice and a decent sized portion of good duck for a quid - bargain! The bus to kuala lumpur took 3 3/1 hrs and cost a couple squid again so happy with the prices - set to get cheaper in thailand, yay. Went up the petronas towers, those two you always see in the pictures, with the bridge connecting the two. 88 floors with the tallest connecting bridge in the world - we went across it and jumped around as youd imagine. KL was alrite but by this point we'de spent a lot of time in major cities which im not too keen on so after 3 nites in the capital we headed to the cameron highlands, mountainous area full of rainforest and tea plantations.
On arrival it was alot cooler than the past couple weeks. Hostel was alrite, mossie/bug nets on the window so i wasnt so worried about being gobbled up by an animal. Rained a bit, in the evening, tried to go to a tea plantation but we missed the first bus and 2nd (and final of the day) would get us there less than an hour before closing, rain again so after hannah got in a pissy we decided to leave the whole country and head to thailand - country of chicks with d*** . Thus bringing us to ipoh where we are right now inbetween busses, about 8 hours drive ahead of us to arrive on golden sand glass, clear seas, cheap booze....and lady boys.
