6th September 2011 - Munich
Breakfast was at 7.30 this morning. Time to leave Vienna, I want to come back here, I need to watch those horses perform. We jumped on the bus and it was a 2 hour sleep until we arrived at the concentration camp, this was the last one to be liberated and was done so by the Americans.
We watched a 20 minute movie which became quite graphic and brought me to tears. It was then time to explore. I went into the gas chambers which had been built to look like showers so the people who were taken there were under the impression they were having showers until the gas was released. I also saw the crematory where the bodies were disposed of. This place made me feel ill, I didn't like it, I don't know how these people could taken pleasure in the torture of others - I guess kind of similar to Caesar and the events that took place in the Colosseum. I didn't have the heart to take photos, I don't want to be reminded of this place.
We then jumped on the bus and after a quick stopover for lunch it was off to Munich -Germany. We spent about an hour down the street checking out the markets and the Oktoberfest dress. Impressive I must say. We then headed to the hotel to get changed for our additional optional at a German Beer Hall. Dancing, singing, one litre steins of beer and of course jägermiester - shake shake, tap tap, skull skull. For someone who doesn't drink beer I managed to drink a litre. It was great fun!! Afterwoods a few of us headed out into Munich for a few more drinks we went to a beer hall and tried to find a club afterwoods but apparently we had too many boys and they were also not appropriately dressed - so it was off to Maccas for a cheese burger then hotel bound which is where I type to you now. I've signed up for some mountain bike riding and bobsledding tomorrow. Should be well good fun!!
Speak soon all!!! Xoxo
Much love!!
