Ok well since a week last monday i have been at Seaview Lion Park just outside of Port Elizabeth. I am currently working there as a volunteer and will be here till next monday. So will have been here for 2weeks before i move on again.
As a volunteer here i get to play with the Lions and Tigers as well as walking and feeding them. They have two 12week old Lion cubs called Adam and Jager, (who i have spent most of my time with). Four 7month old lions and Two 10 month old tigers. We feed and walk them everyday and get to play with them in the spare time. We have to handle and prepare the meat for animals as well as going in the enclosures to clean them out every morning. And as you can imagine Tigers have ground shaking Poo's !!
They also have two Leopards, Caracals, African Wild Cats, Meerkats, a Crocodile. And about 40 fully grown Lions. I love it here, i have met some great people and the experiences are amazing being able to spend so much time with my favourite animals.
Last Saturday me and 2 other girls from Seaview went out for Oktoberfest. We went to a German Club, wore German hats and drank lots of beer. The band that were playing at the Oktoberfest actually invited us onto he stage with them - as they had been at Seaview handling the Lions the day before and they remembered us. It was very random night but very funny. And off out again tomorrow night into Port Elizabeth- which could be fun!!!
It will be hard to leave here on Monday, but theres still so much of South Africa to see with only 4weeks left here. But have a feeling i will be back here. I would love to bring my nephew Ellis here when he is old enough so he can go in with the baby lions and see them.
I'm now going to make the most of my last few days here and also take loads more photos!!! Will try and download some photos of all the animals soon!
