Good morning from a very sunny beautiful Christchurch. VA left yesterday afternoon and left me all on my own I was quite emotional seeing her drive away in a taxi - we've had the most amazing two weeks even though the van wasn't up to scratch it enabled us to see everything we wanted see and more. Last night I spent exploring the city and felt incredibly safe - you just don't see any trouble in New Zealand - everywhere we've been it's felt safe and is very clean.
Thanks for all your messages it really makes a difference when I'm feeling a little homesick I read and re-read your messages and I feel close again to everyone.
Last night was my first night in a backpackers hostel - I had my own room but had to share the facilities - not a problem no more five star accommodation for me - backpackers hostels are the way forward - did you ever think you'd hear that from me maybe it just a very strange time in my life and when I get home everything will revert back to the norm.
No-one to talk to last night in the hostel it was quite quiet hopefully tonight will be busier.
I'm off now by bus to the beach a place called New Brighton - don't think it will be like New Brighton on the Wirral - I've been told that it is beautiful and to have my lunch in the old library - cheap but very nice.
The next time I do my blog I'll be in Sydney - I leave here Friday afternoon and arrive in Sydney Friday afternoon too - three hour time difference. I'll then be ten hours infront of you. I've got four weeks then to get from Sydney to Cairn - keep sending the messages they are brilliant.
