HI all,
Well I finally made it after along journey. I arrived to an unbearable heat and was not able to sleep the first night even though I had not slept for 48 hours.
The next day was much better still hot but OK. After doing some conservation work in the bush, had a lecture on the animals which was very interesting. In the late aternoon went for a walk in the bush(which is completly wild with no fence) and came across girraff and zebra it was fantastic to see completly wild animals. They were as much interested in us as we were in them. I got some great pictures. I have seen lots of tracks of elephants lions and hopefully will see them over the next few weeks.I can hear the lions calling from our camp at night.
The camp is great with a swimming pool which is well used. I have a caravan to myself which is ok as I can keep out all the bugs which there are hundreds of. As I write this I am competing with them as they like the bright screen, also when it is dark I have to shine a tourch on the paths to make sure I do not step on a scorpion which are very dangerous. I have so far seen 3 in the camp.
Tommorow(friday) we are going for a 5 hour hike in the mountains and through some large caves.
The PC at camp is very slow and take ages to download photos so I will try and add some pic later this week when I have edited them.
So from a hot South Africa I will wish you all well and post another blog soon.
John
