Yesterday I told you we were moving from Fès, well we are heading 500 kilomters from there. The day bus trip takes in quite a few beautiful photo shots, a picnic lunch and plenty of dessert .Ringed around this never ending Dessert is The Alas mountains .The smallest of these is only 500 metres high, the next is 1800metres and finally the highest is 2700 metres. The 1800 ones are a form of table tops running for 500 kilometres through Morocco and are very noticeable in the background of my photos. Along the way of this 500K we see one of Morocco richest exports Cedar wood forest found in the middle Atlas Mountains , plus an old Roman ruin dated back to the year 218 A.D. We also call into a small town by the name of Erfoud, this is followed by a scenic drive to our hotel for the night ,the authentic Kasbah hotel.

The next morning we rise early, 4:45am to driven by 4wheel drive into the darkness of the dessert to an isolated spot, where four camel trains lay waiting. The stillness of the Morning is eerie as a camel walks on sand without making any noise . We reach an area and they ask us to get of the camels ,this then becomes the place for the perfect dessert sunrise.
Back to the hotel to start our next part of the journey to Marrakech. On the way will visit the small town Rissani right on the edge of the Sahara ,we learn that this is where the founding father of Alaouite dynasty and the current Moroccan royal family live at the Mausoleum of Moulay Ali Cherif. Now we move on to beautiful Todgha Gorge this was stunning , nine years early a earth quake caused part of the mountain to fall and crush a restaurant , again the mountain terrain is difficult to explain but we are right in the middle of them, full of colours changing shapes and much different shapes, now onto our next stop the town of Ouarzazate and the La Berber palace hotel
Tomorrow we move to Marrakech
with luck will see you all then
