As you can see from the photo!! We made it to Vegas!! actually we are unable to find a more appropriate photo at this time as we are unable to download our pictures as yet! but we are trying..
Our journey from San Fran to Vegas via Los Angeles was long long long.. about 16 hours to be precise.. We arrived at Circus Circus at around 10.00 pm two hours earlier than expected as we had an absolutely nutter of a driver driving us down there. He wasn't one of the 'regular' Greyhound bus drivers so I guess that gave him the license to drive like a lunatic!! Not only was his driving unbelievable but he kept the bus at a nice even temperature of -13 and to top it off played bible bashing music at about 5000 decibles. It was all good!!! For some reason we have picked up a very strong feeling of the states so far.. Interesting.. but with a hidden danger to it..
Upon arrival at Circus Circus, aptly named as it has the worlds largest static circus we had a lovely surprise. THEY UPGRADED US!!!! HOOOORRRAAAHHH! Actually the room wasn't anything to write home about (he he he ...even though we are) but it ws a lovely surprise all the same. As you can tell we are writing in the past tense as we have just arrived in LA Venice Beach but thats another story for another time... BACK TO VEGAS..
On our first day we got a taxi to the infamous 'strip' and had a lovely old chat with the cousin of The Who's drummer. He seemed to know everything about everyone so that was very exciting.. After dropping us at the Luxor which is a hotel in the shape of a pyramid with a very large Sphinx outside we started our walk down the strip.. 2nd stop Tropicana where we saw an amazing Magic show with a man called Dirk Arthur called Xtreme magic where he procceded to use a helicopter, a train, a number of different kinds of white tiger (part of his life is spent with extinct cats in the wild and he is trying to rehabilitate them).. So that was very interesting.. (John insisted I write all the detail for that one in so there we are hon ). We managed to walk about a quarter of the way down the strip before we decided to have a little bit of a gamble in none other than the MGM Grand.. as you gamble they bring you round free cocktails so as you can imagine we did partake in just a few of those .. They do an especially good Strawberry Daqouri.. Yummy Yummy!! Are you jealous yet?? Sister Kate .. I had one for you..Love you darling. Having worked out the key to free drinks we then went on to the Bellagio (the poshest joint in town) and did the same and then on to the Flamingo for a little more.. I think we can certainly say we saw Vegas in the way that it should be seen... across a roulette table.. John did quite well but I din't win a b...... thing!! Aain John thought it would be a really nice idea to walk back to Circus Circus as he THOUGHT it would be about a 10 minute walk!!! but NO!!!it turned out to be one of John' s famous hour and a half walks... What can I do eh!! This walking should certainly be helping our stomach lines thats for sure pa.. Wheres my very creamy fattning cocktail?????
PS Have you found that credit card yet????
