Day 26-
Another travel day today, didn't check out til 12pm then ran the gauntlet to get to the airport. Had two options either get the bus shuttle for $30 each straight to the airport, or get the subway for $3 each, we went the cheap option. Was a bit of a nightmare with the extra baggage swapping train lines and getting up and down stairs but we got there. He the worst experience for lunch the rudest b**** served us was gross. The flight was sweet except we had separate seats so 4 hours alone time, Emm was stoked. The flight was delayed by bout an hour which was a touch annoying. Got there eventually and welcomed the -12 deg weather, snow everywhere!! Kajal and her dad picked us up from the airport and we made tracks to Kaj's house. Beautiful big house at a golf course so nice. Had a beautiful big dinner with Kaj's family and her friend Sarah, then hit the hay.

Day 27-
Got up this morn and went for a wander round the neighbourhood doing some papparazi shooting of the houses and snow everywhere! Kaj's next door neighbour has built his 3 wee kids an amazing little hockey rink with goals and boarded edging, with natural ice. Turns into a bball court in summer, lucky kids. We started out by going up to the canadian olympic park (C.O.P for those in the lingo) and had a look at where calgary hosted the winter olympics, huge ski jumps and bobsled tracks! also there we went to the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame which was similar to the hockey HOF but all olympic sports, also very awesome! We then went and met Raul Kaj's brother for lunch then went to a local pond/river in town to do some skating, felt very Canadian! Was crazy being able to see the cracks in ice and bubbles underneath! Had a beer at a nice place to warm up then back to Kaj's to chill for a bit. Went out for dinner with Kaj's friend Sarah and her fiancée Brent to a little Blues restaurant called Blue Can, then went to the Calgary Zoo to see the Xmas lights show. Started getting a bit cold towards the end of walking round the zoo for an hour or so. Off to Banff in the morning so pretty pumped for that!

Day 28-
Massive highlight day today! So got up bright and early, and by bright I mean pitch black to hit the road to Banff! As we slowly made our way into the mountains the snow got thicker and thicker, looked incredible. Got into Banff and had a coffee at everlyns, Banff much like qtown small little resort town, except there were elk and deer walking down the main strip! Kajal surprised Emm and I with a trip on a "1 horse open sleigh" (yes just like in jingle bells) as a wedding present! So made our way out to the ranch to meet our driver and horse "Dave". Was such a wicked experience but bloody freezing, would've been 20 under. The driver gave us a thick bear rug and a couple bottles of booze on trip to stay warm! Was classic Dave the hrse kept After that we went and visited Banff springs a big castle like resort. Took some happy snaps then went for lunch to Earls. After lunch we hit the road to lake Louise which is the post card mountains and green/blue lake you always see of Canada, would have been nice if we could see a damn thing! Snow was really comin down there and the whole lake was frozen over! So people we skating and walking across the lake, amazing views though. The hotel there was massive too. We then head home and had a quiet night in and dinner with kajals family again! Great day

Day29-
Another ripper! Balmy -28 when we got up this morn really hits ya hard. Headed in the Chinhook shopping mall this morn was massive and busy with Xmas shoppers but we got there early to beat the rush. Emm and Kaj shopped up a storm while I mucked around going to another sportchek. After lunch we packed our stuff up as were staying at Kaj's brother Raul's house in town as getting boozed up that night. We then went and me Raul at the curling rink and had our first experience of another Canadian past time. Pretty much like lawn bowls but waaaay slipperier! Was heapsa fun and me and Kaj beat Emm and Raul no biggie. After curling we went back to Kaj's parents house for dinner and a few drinks before going out. Kaj's mum dropped us in town at a craft beer house and met up with bout 10 of their mates, got absolutely steamed up . We were supposed to go to a popular county bar called ranchmans or something but everyone got a bit carried away at craft so didn't make it. Was so bizarre but at like 2am after the bar we all went out and had Chinese at a restaurant was pretty funny, ate about 40 wontons then went home. Was bloody freezing outside and the snow was really coming down, makes waking hard when ya have had a cupla. Hungover flight to Vancouver tomorrow, yay.
