Hello everyone! The day has finally arrived! The trip i have been looking forward to for so long is now a reality.
Over the next 14ish months I plan on backpacking through South America, Europe and South East Asia. I will be taking part in an archeological dig on the island of Menorca, Spain and spending a significant amount of time working on organic farms (WOOFing) in Spain and France. The first 10 weeks in South America i'll be with two friends, Collin and Jesse, and for the rest i will be by myself.
I figure this is the best way to share with everyone my adventure and will try and post regular updates of my travels with some pictures and stories.
As my trip begins I feel so grateful for this amazing opportunity and know that it would not be possible without the support and advice I have recieved from family and friends. For this I cannot thank you enough.
We landed in La Paz, Bolivia on June 7 and spent 3 days exploring the city and adjusting to the altitude. We went to the Bolivia vs Paraguay world cup qualifier, had a few drinks and set about planning the next few weeks.
La Paz is like nothing I could have imagined, a combination of breathtaking beauty and poverty.
Last night we arrived in Cocabamba on Lake Titikaka, and today we set off for a day on the island of Isla del Sol. Following a night on the island Collin and I will head into Peru and Machu Pichu while Jesse heads to the Bolivian Amazon.
