The morn dawned bright and sunny as the crowed cawed us to conciousness. Great day to learn to surf who agreed and off Joe went to book us in for 2pm.
As 2pm approaches suddenly it looks dark, oh ohoh and the torrential rain starts! Shivering I begin to get nervous, the sea is looking v.v.choppy! However, our local Noosa Instructor gives us a wetsuit each, which turns out to be warmer than my trousers and fleece and off we trot.
A quick breifing and we go out to learn to catch a wave, and do the 'chicken pose'. Both very good at this although Joe got wiped out at one point.
Back to the shore for a breifing on standing up;Â I feel very silly as I lie on my board on the beach paddling imaginary waves and jumping up with my arms splayed and knees bend- ah well we all look silly!
Suprisingly I stood up a lot and altho0ugh I was going fairly slow was very chuffed with myself. But, even more happy because for once I am more of a natural at as sport than Joe (previously unheard of). He did stand up a couple of times, but he had such long legs to get up more often we would lose him under a wave. All in all we were both pretty chuffed with our skill and are looking forward to getting boards out in surfers paradise down th coast!
However, my muscles are aready hurting! You need to be very fit- Joe wil be better off than me! (although his toe is almost hanging off!)
Sorry to hear about the Land Rover parentys, did they destroy the locks or nething?! That's our seconmd car break in! Miss you all x x
