A quick run down of my travels over the past month or so.
After I left Adelaide in April, met my Mum and Dad in Cairns and we travelled down the east coast on a road trip. Was fab. Then my friend Jackie arrived for three weeks we spent a few days in Sydney then went back up the East Coast and did all the crazy backpacker stuff. Had an awesome time. Whitsundaysd, Fraser Island, Byron Bay so on. Sure I wrote about it at the time.
Anyway after Jackie left it was back to being on my own again. Wll for a couple of hours anyway, he he! Left Jackie in Brisbanre and met up with an Italian guy I had met on Fraser spent a few days hanging around with him and checking out the city. His hostel was better than mine. Had challenges and games at nuights. Mine was a bit la de dah with no real atmosphere and the girls in my room worked all the time. Also went to the casino with Gabriel where we had a small win 15 dollars to be precise. This is mega bucks in the backpacker world i tell you. Made our night. Whilst in brisbane met up with Lee Paterson from Stonehouse yety agin. Its fab even thiugh Austrilia is massive we keep meeting. Went to a BBQ with Lee and Katia then Kee and I went a night out in Fortitude Valley. It wasn't the best night out we've had I must say. Lots of strange peopl, we didn't really feel the safest. Was quite a seedy place. we ended up in a gay bar by accident with lots of cross dressers.
I theb left Briosbane, felt I had seen a lot of the east coast and was looking for something different now. Ws kinda becoming all samey. Don't get me wrong. Loved it but theres only so much East Coast you can do, well what my wallet and body can do. It was expensive because its aimed at backpackers and theres so so much you want to do and you also party lots at night.Very comercialised. Your money just goes so fast. There is only so much parting you can do aswell does become samey and not what I want to spend all my money on. So decision was made off to Perth for me to check out the West Coast for a bit.
My friend Paul was over in the West coast. met him in Melbourne. Planned on doing a roadtrip with paul and a crowd up the West Coast. Paul had bought a car. My Dad's cousin stays in Perth. Stayed with them for a while. Met family I have never met before and it feels like I have known them all my lfe. They were fab. The day I arrived it was my uncles 62nd birthday and all the family were at the house waiting for me to arrive. Daunting at first I tell you entering a room full of people all eyes on you. Meet the family. There was Alec and Isa and they have two griown up children, my cousins who also have children of their own now. The grandkids who felll in love with me, it was so funny. Christian and Oliver the boys jkept asking if their third cousin could come and play and stay the night and they had a tantrum one night when I was out with my backpacker friends. It was really great staying with alec and Isa they were so chilled out. Isa was a star she had all of my backpacker friends round for dinner one night. Ten of us, all Irish. Brilliant.
Through Paul I met a crowd and spent a lot of time at their hostel "The Witches Hat" and going out with them at nights and sneaking back into their hostel at night cos I din't actually stay there. In the morning I had to be up at the crack of dawn before ther cleaners arrived and spotted me. Backpackers eh! What u do to save a buck. Is funny!
We had a brilliant time in pErth. Went to this fantastic club "Black Bettys". If you were in a group yopu all put into a bar tab say 20 dollars each and they doubled your money for you. Was such a good deal and the bands that played in there were first class. Cool music to dance too. One of my favourite nights out I've had so far had to be a night in there. Met some really nice people what a laugh!
We loved Perth so much thaty no one
