Hi
I've not been very good at updating this blog the past two months with me travelling in the back of beyond and hmmmm! Also being very lazy. Sorry but I keep sending people personal emails that I never get round to doing this so i'm going to try update you with what i've been up to the next few times i'm on.
Now I'm in New Zealand and God its cold. A total shock to my system coming from the heat up the west coast of OZ where I was getting used to tempertures in the 30s. Here I now have my thermals on and sleep with a hot water bottle. BBBBRRR! Its like december time at home very very cold. A cold december at that.So far I'm not enjoying the cold but everyone tellsme New Zealand is worth it and that I'llnfall inlove with the country. We'll see!
So far from what I have seen the scenery is very stunning! There is mountains everywhere covered in snow. Very pretty.I arrived on Tuesday night and was met by long lost relatives. Before I came travelling I never knew they exisrted but I have now found that I have quite a lot of family in New Zealand. I stayed with my Dad's cousin Alec and family in Perth who were absolutely fab and they put me in touch with other cousins I have in New Zealand. The first few days I stayed in Christchurch with Gavin (my dad's cousin), his wife Yvonne, their daughter and grandchildren. Gavin and Yvonne are both in their seventies and have llivedout here 40 years. It was funny coming into the country they didn't have a clue what Ilooked like and had made a huge sign with my name on it.Pretty sweet! Yvonne had the electric blanket onmy bed waiting for me. Think she knew that I would feel the cold. Its bizarre. Its so cold here and none of the housese have central heating. I don't think I could cope with it.I mean it is freezing even in the house. AAAAHHH!
The first day in Christchurch was spent checking out the local hospital.I've decided I'm doing a tour of them around Australia and New Zealand will file my report later he he! I had to get my arm checked out again.YAWN! Getting fed up of it now.Perth were concerned with some bone in it and thought I may need an op but I don't than god! Got the cast on for another 3 weeks. Itrs a really cool purple one.Lisa you would like it!Matches my scarf. A bit gutted cos I can't do all the sports I wanted too but I will get to do some things, I'll just need to come back.not going to let it get to me though will still have fun.
I've joined this hop on hop off bus around the 2 islands. My friends are here too, they are a few days ahead though but we are meeting in queenstown is cool! The bus is meant to be a good laugh, you do lots of activities like hikes across mountains nd they take you places you can't reach as a tourist. Shoiuld be good will keep you posted.
Best go just realised the time ammeeting bus at ferry terminal will try update rest tomorrow.
miss u xxxx
