Joanna's Travels
This isnt what Manta Ray looked like, buut I'm sure it would have looked nice if it was sunny... as it was there was a water problem so we were only able to have showers at 5pm. But the resort itself was pretty cool. Its an ecological resort so the toilets were compost toilets - no flush and when you had done your business and put the paper down the toilet you just had to shut the lid... it was quite draughty!!
We played cards in the evening and Brid and I were in the dorm but Dee and Theresa had to sleep in a tent again as that was all that was available. the next day though we all lay in hammocks and read books. Burgers and chips for luch! Yum!!
We also played 'Extreme Hammocking' (see photos when I've uploaded them for details).
Caught the flyer at 3pm to get back to the mainland, civilisation, internet, banks and telephones.
We had all left bags at the Nomad Skylodge in Nadi: where when I had checked in my luggage I had sene the names of the four Belfast Boys in the luggage book that I met in The Cook Islands... what a coincidence - what a small world (but then I guess everyone you meet is either doing the same thing as you or has already been there and done it...)!!!
But we decided to stay the night in the Nadi Bay Resort Hotel, which was great: two swimming pools (not that we got to use them as it was night time) and two restaurants - better food than at the Skylodge.
We got a dorm for four people - sharing a lounge area with two other rooms (the Dolphin Dorm), and after a loveky meal (where we were most excited to be able to chose the meal we had, instead or either a) piling our plate high form a buffet selection, or b) just being given whatever was on offer and liking it or lumping it), and it was nice to spend our last night together as I am off to NZ now and the girls are flying to Sydney.
