We are now in Peru. We arrived late last night to Lima. Alex´s is still with us at the mo but will be leaving us tonight to head back to England - not sure if I can take anymore goodbyes!!

Had an amazing last week in Quito. We managed to do so much in the few days that we where there. We went to see a town called Otavalo slighty north of Quito which is famous for its traditional markets selling local handicrafts. We also took a trip to a small town called Mindo where we visited a butterfly breeding farm and an organic coffee farm. Mette (our friend from Jatun Sacha who also travelled to Banos and Riobamab with us) came to join us in Quito on Friday so we spent the last few days doing things together which was really fun. We went to see a local football match which although the stadium wasn´t packed was so lively, everyone was singing and people were throwing torn up paper and lighting flares - it really went off with a bang!!! We also had another trip to our favorite resturant where the lamb was just so nice last time that we wanted Alex and Mette to try (our frient Lucy also came too).

Saying goodbye to everyone yesterday was really quite sad. We met lot´s of people from Jatun Sacha in the centre of town an hour before leaving for the airport - was really lovely to see tham before we left but it made it so final and I think it finally set in that we where actually moving on! Saying goodbye to Mette afterwards was a little to much for me and i had a little cry - aww too many goodbyes in such a short space of time, don´t know how we are going to manage to say goodbye to Alex tomorrow!!
