During our 5 day holiday from Jatun Sacha we went to visit a town south of Tena called Baños. Baños was a very small but beautiful town, set in the middle of a valley and surrounded by the active volcano Tungurahua. We have now finished our second working week here at Jatun Sacha. It has been busy and any spare time we have had has been filled with visiting things outside of the reserve. The trips we have had this week have been the funniest yet I think. We went for a sceond visit to Misahualli with some of the others here that hadn`t yet been. Everyone had been really looking forward to seeing the monkeys that wander the square freely (the main reason most people came). ...

After our 6 hour journey we arrived back to Jatun Sacha where we were welcomed by a rather junglefied Alex!!! We met two of bobbyś friends on the way (Nick and Selene) who were on their way to visit Bobby as a suprise - they were really nice peps and they ended up satying here until tuesday!! We started back to work on monday - can´t really say that we have been doing that much work this week, not because we haven`t wanted to but becasue it has rained heavil...

Hola amigos, Well we have had a slight alteration to our schedule and are back in Quito momentarily as I got a small infection in my appendix and Nic had problems with her stomach. We were only actually at Jatun Sacha - where our project is based, for two days which included only one morning of work!!!!! It was all too hard for us really - so much for being ill!!! Only joking: We are both better now anyway and will be going back this sunday to begin jungle life ...
