Hello everyone haven't updated this blog for a couple of weeks because I've been working. Yes you read it right I finally tracked down that endangered species called a job. Have been working for a company called the Smart Group selling electricity door to door. I ended up working there for five weeks, had a ball and earned more money to keep on travelling so it's all good. The good thing about d2d selling in Oz is that it's the opposite of what is in England in that the weather is sunny and Aussies are really friendly. Have made some really good friends through work and have met some really interesting people whilst knocking on doors. One guy I met used to be a professional drummer who has recorded with the Foo Fighters and the Police and several other really Aussie guyd who were always willing to offer you a beer, offer loads of travel information and have a good laugh. We got to see a lot of the suburbs round Brisbane and even ended up going on a roadtrip to Coolum Beach which was awesome. The people on our team was a good bunch of characters which I'll update my blog on another time but I've made a few friends for life definitely. Brisbane has definitely grown on me since the first time I arrived here and has been one of my favourite places so far!

This week I went back to Airlie Beach to go sailing to the Whitsundays (it's a must on the list of any backpacker!). It certainly didn't disappoint and Whitehaven Bay is easily the nicest beach I've ever seen especially due to the fact that it's 99% pure silica and is used in the Hubble telescope (which our captain was more than happy to advise about!!). We also went to go to do some snorkelling to see some coral reefs and fish (earning me another nickname 'dory' as in the dozy fish from Finding Nemo which I wasn't very impressed with). The people again we were travelling with was a real good mixture. Me and my aussie friend dan ended up challenging two of the swedish girls to a set of challanges which unfortunately we lost (but that in itself is another story which I'll inform people of anther time). Am now heading off to Fraser Island this weekend before going to Byron Bay and Sydney before I head off to New Zealand in September!
