Well, we've been in Newcastle for three nights an hav moved on to Coffs Harbour, only planned to stay three nights but are staying for five as Byron Bay has no free hostels yet! Newcastle was lovely, but quiet. Hostel was average, but far away from everything. its daft cos they say oh you've got an ensuite an you go in an theres a shower an a sink but frigging toilet, which ill think you'll all agree that is an essential! We took a wander along the prominade, an visited the Queens wharf tower, which apparently is called the 'Giant Penis'! Got the train to Coffs harbour, Which was long but ended up sittin next to a very nice aussie guy so i guess there is a silver linning to every cloud. an no sadly i didnt his number! Stayed at the Plantation Hotel which was very cheap an cheerful an right above a bar/ night club so as you can guess ended up drunk an dancing like an idiot! Once recovered, we visited the The big banana which is just a big banana, surprise surprise. Spend a day which beach which was lovely an the water was very warm but jill ended up getting her bum an found it difficult to sit down for a while! People at the hostel very friendly, especially the wee chinese guy Leo, who worked there, i asked him how the washing machines were, he told me they were free and i kept thinking he was saying three! you kinda had to be there. So we are moving on to Byron Bay which apparently is hippy town, so ill let you know.
