Trust and Mistrust...

Agghh, i find myself constantly battling with my feeling of - am i being taken for a ride or is this person being genuinely nice, bought a saweer kameez - long tunic with trousers and scarf for volunteering and guys were v chatty and sat down drank tea and had really interesting conversation but whole time i was thinking is this tea drugged, when i exited are they following me - aggh!! Healthy to have a sense of awareness but pretty much everyone i have met so far is v helpful and just want to have a chat, for a price of course!

Checked out volunteering projects today, and I am starting tomorrow at a slum school, facilities v clean (much more so than hostel i am staying in!!) and looks like loads of material avail. Also hope to help at sports day the care and counselling project is having on sat working with kids with disabilities - learning, hearing impairments, autisim etc. Hope to start this work, working from 11-4 with kids from Mon and do for at least a month to give kids a bit of continuity and hopefully really get something out of it. Excited that finally getting around to what i am really here for, but v wary about how much of an impact my limited bengali is going to have 'aa mi banga la janee nah' - i don't speak bengali tottered out fairly often but in city v easy to talk in english - too easy really!!
