I read your tiger entry and remembered the tiger drive I went on when I was in Indian. No tigers in sight - though I thought it was pretty fortunate given that we were driving around in an old army truck with no sides or roof! The driver of the truck did however manage to stop to show all it's occupants a single tiger paw print in the dirt road - one limbed tigers are pretty rare these days I hear!!! Read your tiger entry and it reminded me of a documentary about the man-eating tigers and honey gatherers that I watched last week. With the help of a dog trainer from USA one village was training their undomesticated dogs to warn them about approaching tigers and scare them off with their barking. Dogs really are 'man's best friend'. I hope it worked. I will catch up on your

Lynda Republic Day!! We have THE most tedious set of slides from the New Delhi RD parade of 1972 - might have been an extra effort parade bc it was during one of the India Pakistan wars. But we were impressed, so much that our enthusiastic photographer wanted to capture it all, regrettably the camera made it appear closer than the photos show, so they are all very repetitive and in the hazy distance. But I recall elephants, brass bands, generally it was a very impressive display. Slide show (of the C20 variety) available on request!
