USA Road trip 2011
Up before dawn & headed back towards Monument Valley & stopped on HWY 163 for sunrise (see picture).
After sunrise I headed north into Utah and drove through the canyonlands... along the way stopping at Goosenecks National Park and the rock that the town of Mexican Hat was named after.
Quite hot and tiring. The very dry heat in the desert seems to drain your energy quite quickly.
Motel for a couple of hrs in the afternoon... quick nap then back into Monument Valley for a tour around the restricted areas of the park just before sunset. Beautiful.
Had a bite to eat with a fellow Aussie traveller back in Mexican Hat... great bbq steak, few beers etc.
Ready for another early day tomorrow.
