Today was such a relaxing day. I caught up on sleep and woke up and went to class. For class today we met at the carousel in the Piazza Repubblica and walked to a bookstore some streets away. This was just not any bookstore, it was specifically for fashion and design. This place is where all designers, such as Roberto Cavalli, go for inspiration for their new fashion collections. My teacher showed us important books used in the industry that cost hundreds of dollars. In particular she showed us the "trend forecast" books. These books are created to predict what the trends will be like in a year or two. How they do this I am amazed. People in the fashion industry then can use these as a basis for their collections or what people will want to buy in a year. This bookstore was so much fun to explore! We were able to get a few fashion books and magazines for free! These are definitely going to keep me occupied for a couple hours.
After class, I got some fresh strawberries and a nectarine (so good) and brought them back to the apartment to eat with some bread I already had. After lunch I was able to relax and catch up on watching the Bachelorette which was a nice change since I am used to being constantly on the go. Once the show was over I decided to check out a gym that someone had recommended to me and see if I could get in a workout. The gym was small but surprisingly very nice with all new equipment. There was fitness class going on and it was funny to hear it in Italian. I got in a good workout and was able to go for a much anticipated run on the high tech treadmills. On these treadmills you can play games like mahjong and sudoku, browse the Internet, watch TV, or listen to the radio. I've never seen this before! After my workout I headed back to the small panini place that I went to last week to get another prosciutto and caprese panini. Benissimo! I walked back to the apartment by crossing through some busy piazzas and ate my sandwich. It is so nice walking around nighttime because it is much cooler and the city is all light up with people walking around. I ended my relaxing day by showering and catching up on more shows that I am missing over here. Tomorrow I will be up for the gym again and to complete my homework assignment. I have to sketch either Audrey Hepburn or Twiggy's face like she taught us in class and draw hands and feet. Buonasera!
