Last night's screening and Q&A went well, as did today's. There are just two screens at the Filmens Hus, the fest venue. The first, called Tancred, is pretty large, about 170 seats, and Lillebil is smaller, maybe 60. Last night we had about 60 viewers at our screening in Tancred. The film looked great. We had maybe 45 today in Lillebil. Nearly everyone in both screenings stayed for the Q&A.
After last night's screening we went for dinner with two of the fest workers, Aeric (who had arranged all our travel) and Jan Roger, at a kabob place - fast, cheap (by Norway standards) and yummy. Then home to bed. We managed to sleep through the night and get on Norway time. No jet lag (hooray!).
This morning we woke up about 8:30 and ate a leisurely breakfast. A sign in the hotel's elevator had promised a kick-ass breakfast each morning, and they delivered. After that we spent about four hours sightseeing, starting with the Opera House, which we can see from our window. Andreus had said to appreciate it fully you need to "experience" the architecture and he was right. The rooftop sloping into the water urges climbing (as do the signs, with the caveat "at your own risk"). Chad described it as like walking on a glacier.
Chad pulled out his camera right away and kept it out for all our sightseeing - 303 in all, which I've uploaded here. He photographed the DFDS cruise ship, which we'll take to Copenhagen on Thursday. It's huge.
After the Opera House we walked along the harbor to Akerhus Fortress, built in the 14th century. It had great views of the harbor and is still guarded by a few Norwegian soldiers. From there we walked to the City Hall and experience its large marble hall surrounded by murals representing Norway's history.
The director of Where Soldiers Come From, Heather Courtney, whom Chad had met at LA Film Fest and we've seen and hung out with at other fests since, arrived and came to our screening. We visited between and then we watched her film. It was outstanding. After her Q&A, we all went out for a few beers with Tommy and Jan Roger and his friend, Jon. Did I mention how expensive alcohol is here? But we had a good time. Heather left after one because of her jet lag, but hopefully she'll have our same experience and sleep all night and get into the time change. We made plans to do dinner tomorrow night and then she's joining us for sightseeing on Monday when we take the ferry to Bygdoy.
More on that then, but in the meantime enjoy the top 20% of photos that Chad took today under the photos tab. I took a few with my camera of him, but we haven't uploaded any of those yet.

Mom Sounds like you're having a great time. I know both you and Chad thrive on new experiences and meeting new people. Glad the showings are going well.
Jaime Thanks, Mom. We are having fun and the people have been really cool. Met another tonight sharing taxi from the airport. Will likely mention her in tomorrow's post.
