Today was my last day in Tsavo so Chemben and Simon took both Georgia and I to Tsavo East National Park as the animals are more concentrated there as opposed to the west where our camp is.
The east was bursting with life and even better, new life! Baby Elephants, Giraffe, Zebra, Hippos, Buffalo and Impala. When we drove to Crocodile point we had spotted a giant pod of Hippos some in the water but mainly sunbathing in the banks among them the other side of the river lay 3 rather big crocs. After some photos we jumped back into the land cruiser and went to Lugard Falls to walk along the dry river bed to where it was just a small fall. The power of the water in rainy seasons over the years had carved out these amazing pockets and caves in the rock. Further down the falls Chemben helped me to climb down a few metres so I could really see how intricate it was and just how deep it had carved. I hadn't seen anything like it before. It was beautiful! The rock had this marble effect with holes and arches all through it.
Georgia and I later went back for a late lunch and to pack our bags for our trip to Diani beach in Mombasa. The only issue we had we went in the morning to Voi to get the bus however we were 4hours early so instead we hired a Matatu to privately take us to Mombasa where we would then try to get tickets for the train back to Nairobi in a few days before going to our lodge in Diani.
