I have confetti in my bra!!!
What a great way to start, my blog and my trip :)
Today I am in La Rochelle for the Cavalcade festival. It is such a beautiful town, it has that perfect seaside town atmosphere. The Cavalcade is a massive fun fair and float procession and there is confetti everywhere, being thrown at everyone, hence why I have some in my bra.
I'm back at my hotel now which is quiet and small and does the job. I've really enjoyed today, it wouldn't have been the same without a chocolate crepe though, they are my answer to hunger in Europe! They agree :) I didn't get much of a chance to explore properly today as I was busy watching the floats and wandering around the fun fair and sea front stalls. So I'm spending another half a day here tomorrow before heading back to Paris where I spent last night. I was in a lovely hotel minutes from Gare Du Nord station, the area is a little rough but I was only staying there the night so it was perfect. My room was really big and I actually had one of the best nights sleep I've had for ages. The Eurostar and a full day at work had knackered me out though. I'm thinking I might not sleep as well tonight but fingers crossed. I'm really looking forward to exploring Paris but I want to make the most of my morning in La Rochelle tomorrow. I plan to explore the town some more and go to the aquarium here before I leave. On a general note about my journey I have realised I might have to leave some of my stuff so that I can bring new stuff home, lucky most of its from primark!
