2/11/10 Left the islands for Siem Reap, Cambodia today. Got the boat to the mainland and then to the Cambodian border. The bus to Siem Reap was so busy, people had to sit in the aisles for hours. 17/10/10 Border crossing into Laos Got woken up at 6am by some laos dude singing, only 3hrs sleep. Someone was singing in the night as well, but no one else heard it so I'm starting to wonder if its the malaria tablets! 13/10/10 Oh dear, all feeling pretty hungover. Leaving for Pai today which is a small 'hippy' town further north. 10 of us in a small minivan. What they don't tell you is that the mountain road to Pai is infamous as it has 762 curves. Well you can imagine what happened and it was not pretty! 9/10/10 Sleeper bus was nowhere near as bad as India, maybe because I took 2 sleeping tablets, brilliant. Arrived at Julies hostel in Chiang Mai at about 6.30am. This place is really cool with a big communal area where you can take beer out of the fridge, write it in a book and pay for it when you leave which is a bit dangerous.
