Hi from Cheeky Chiang Mai!!
April 8th- Day in Sukothai
Well after an almost 'too good' night sleep we enjoyed the best breakfast ever! I swear to god, J and J guest house should go down in history for its breakfasts! The cunning combination of freshly baked bread and awesome coconut smoothies and iced coffee and a great night sleep for just 3.50 a night..... my god I have fallen in love!
We then got a Tuk Tuk for the whole day, just a fiver each to get a tour of the entire of Sukothai Historical Park, whic is pretty damn good. We had a great day, adventuring around the temples and ruins, too many to mention! Huge Buddahs, and beautifully enchating ruins were spectacular... and I swear we had the entire park to ourselves! We did meet a lovely english couple, who we shared expereicnes of the Thai people with. I have to say, they are the nicest people.... so so friendly! In stark comparison with our experiences with the Indians, it is shocking how helpful and smiley they are. We are loving their kindness and genorousity. In J and J guesthouse we were invited to take part in an international beauty contest by the owner, but we will unfortunately be in Chiang Mai :( Looked amazing tho and it is tempting to travel down to see it!
We then went for another lovely swim... its great to be doing exercise again! Unfortunately this rather brutish french family starting dive bombing in... a******s. Im all up for a dive bomb or cheeky tummy flop, but not when others are swimming!
In the evening I enjoyed more smoothies and rice, and we played some cards... all in all a great day!
April 9th- Travel to Chiang Mai
Pretty dull day, was sad to leave the guest house, but had a lovely send off by J and J. We then had a lovely easy journey to Chiang Mai, I mean it is so simple! They have ticket systems, and bus terminals, and people to assist tourists.... its liek a new world!
Our bus journey took a comfortable 6 hours, and I dominated 3 seats... bit harsh I know, bu I wanted to lie down! A women threw up near by, which did make it a tad smelly, but in comparison to previous journeys it was great.
We arrived in Chiang Mai and got taken to our guesthouse, which is not as nice a the last by halves... but it does have a pool! Having unpacked, we embarked on what we thought would be a crazy night out in Chiang Mai... but it turns out that the town is mainly populated by old white men seeking young thai prostitues, who are there in the plenty. It is yucky.... really grot... when u see these gorgeous adolescents with these hairy, old men.....
Our nights sleep was not great as we are in a fan roon and it is very hot here... but oh well!
March 10th- Day in Chiang Mai
All we did today was lounge by the pool and book ourslves on a more productive cookery class for tomorrow! But we did eat at a lovely plave called blue diamond, which had cracking avocado, cheese and egg sandwiches, somewhat reminiscent of the ones Liam made me in Sydney, but not half of good of course!
Tonight we are doing the night market, but will update u on its character tomo
Missing you all tons, sorry for the briefness of this blog!
