Buenas tardes!
To be honest the picture has got absolutely nothing to do with what I'm doing at the moment!
This is my second day in the huge, polluted and busy capital Lima, at a Hotel. It's not the most exciting of places but the plan is that my dad and I go to Satipo Saturday morning. Satipo is described as a "jungle town" and "the center of fruit and coffee production" in Lonely Planet - so quite the contrary to Lima!
I'm excited about going to Satipo and meeting Esperanza, a girl my age who runs an NGO called AJEDMA. As far as I've understood it consists of a group of young locals who help street children (and dogs it seems) and try to create awareness about the importance of respecting the rain forest. Esperanza seems very lively, warm and loving and says I will be treated "as a sister."
On the downside it's raining cats and dogs in the jungle and it goes on until March! Moreover, I am told to watch out because there are a lot of mosquitoes. But no worries! I've got my mosquito repellant and my fancy mosquite net:)
When March does come along and the sun starts doing it's job I am going to Mazamari, approximately 20km from Satipo to teach English at a school. There are 200 students at the school, some of who are war orphans and live at the school. I'll live at the school and I am really excited about meeting all the kids and hopefully being able to communicate with them :-)
I am hoping to get some pictures of where I really am uploaded soon.
I hope all is well at home!
Lots of love,
Jessica

Benji heey Jessy wey! Great to hear from you and your homeless street dogs. What are your first impressions?
Jessie Hej Benji and Ruben, first impressions.. hmm well you see I've only been in Lima, going to satipo on saturday (change of plans) Lima is big and noisy but the people are kind and very talkative (as is david..) haha. David is working today so I'm going to go explore the town and do touristy things on my own :p (and with a woman I met at the hotel will join me) see ya'ss
Jeg har lagt nogle billeder op, men jeg kan ikke selv se dem herinde. kan i?
