We arrived in San Sebastian after our new friends Brent and Faye drove us down from Anglet, France. We hit the tapas bars immediately and downed some beer and those yummy little morsels called tapas. Not sure if I mentioned it in the previous blog but our road trip was fun and the surfers (in search of the perfect wave) stopped for a few waves at one of the many little beaches on the Basque coast.
We overdosed on tapas and sangria on our 5 days in search of the perfect tapas bar and we indeed found some great food!
I had Kirb all to myself as the waves were not working at all, it was like a lake at the surfing beach and it would have been a good opportunity for me to get out there. I wimped it after our mate Brent told us of the time he got attacked by a shark in northern California. Thanks Brent.... (great story though).
We took a day trip to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and were blown away by the architecture!! We were lucky enough to have arrived on the anniversary and got in for free. There was some pretty cool modern art inside but the building is definitely the star.
We met some other nice folk: Mark from Tassie, couple Sofie from Canada and Anthony from QLD (who we hope to see in Newy one day) and had the best paella and sangria!!!
Until my next blog
Ciao
