Well we spent 4 rainy days in Amsterdam, one of which I was curled up in bed all day trying to beat the head cold I managed to get….. Amsterdam is a great city with hardly any cars and loads of bicycles. There are road lanes just for bikes and walking lanes and it is easy to get around (if you don't get lost). We went on a walking tour through the city and saw all the major sites, the old and new church, the red light district, the Jewish area and Anne Frank House and even got a brief history lesson!!! We sampled the best hot chips we have ever had and are definitely fans of fries and mayo…. We tried the Dutch pancakes but have to say that I have had better, they were still good though….We spent hours in the Van Gough museum which was really fantastic to see the complete art history of one master artist. We hired bikes the second last day we were there (luckily it was a beautiful sunny day) and rode through Vondelpark which has a bike track through the middle of the park. Our last day we packed some croissants and took the river bike track all the way out in the country side to see all the windmills. Kirb taught Rembrandt a few things on the way (he looked pretty strange talking to a statue, don't tell him though). It was a great ride through the country and we made it back to catch our train just in time, after getting lost a couple of times….
