Welcome to our last blog! We're currently in San José, after 5 nights in Costa Rica. We flew into San José, the capital, on Wednesdy and spent a fun night at Galileo hostel, playing beer pong and hanging out with the staff who are very cool. The next morning we took a boiling hot, 6 hour bus to the beach town of Tamarindo on the Pacific Coast. We were there for 3 nights, hanging out at the hostel, meeting lots of cool people (it's like an american colony, no need for spanish!) and making lots of amazing meals in the lovely communal kitchen. We spent a bit of time on the beach, but it was quite over cast during the day, with spells of heavy rain (the wet season... who knew?!) so it was risky to stay there for ages! It's a great surfing spot, but since we're not quite at professional standard, the waves were a bit to big for us. On Saturday morning we did a canopy tour, the best thing to do in Costa Rica, which is a series of zip-wires through the tree tops of the jungle. I was just the two of us with two hilarious guides, and it was so much fun! We finished with a 'tarzan swing', which terrified me, mostly because i had to climb a huge ladder without a harness! They called it a free-fall, but after our swing-jump experience, we knew we had nothing to fear! I was nervous jumping off as i hate heights, so Jess went first, and made it look easy, which i soon discovered it was! It was a good sensation though, just not quite thrilling enough for us daredevils!! On Sunday we made our way back here, during a bit storm so the bus wasn't so torturous. Another night in Galileo Hostel, a serious lack of sleep (noisy cities!!) and we're spending our last afternoon having a look around before making our way to the airport.
We arrive in LA at midnight tonight, and have 2 action packed days exploring Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Venice Beach, Santa Monica and Downtown LA! Highlights obviously include the Hollywood Sign, The Walk of Fame, Shopping on Rodeo Drive and maybe seeing a gig at the Troubador! After LA we're taking a beautiful train journey to San Diego, and spending 3 nights there, exploring the city and possibly visiting the famous zoo!
On Sunday we're going back up to LA, fitting in a few more sights, and going out of town for a day on the beach (maybe Newport!). We fly up to San Francisco on Tuesday morning, where it's non-stop toursim for 5 days before we fly home!
We're going to bike the Golden Gate bridge and take a ferry ride back again, visit Fisherman's wharf, see a baseball game and possibly a show. We're visiting Alcatraz and exploring the piers around, and doing plently of shopping around our hostel in Union Square!
Looking forward to seeing you all in two weeks and telling you all about it! Thank you so much for reading!xx
