Ok, so we managed to arrive a day early in La Paz for our big froup tour despite all our worrying about not making it on time. We decided to take our chances at getting into the hotel we're staying at with the trip and it paid off as it turned out the group was already there, so we met them. Todd our tour guide (very camp canadian guy) seemed immediately like loads of fun and he managed to get us into the hotel, which is amazingly posh by the way in comparrison to our hostels!! We just chilled out in the room recovering for aegs but was a bit weird because we aren´t used to doing nothing. We went out for dinner with a few of the group though who had spent the day cycling the worlds most dangerous road (really bendy and narrow and sheer drops either side) so they were exhausted, but we had a really nice meal.
The next day we had a bit of a lie in, then we went for breakfast at Olivers, which is very famous in La Paz. It's an english pub whioch serve pg tips and tetleys, so we had a lovely cup of tea (not quite like home because the waters rubbish) and sausage, bacon and eggs etc...which to be honest was a bit disappointing. People are really plain eaters in Bolivia, nothing really has any taste. We're both craving a curry, something with some spice!! After breakfast we were told to go and explore the infamous witches market. Well, it was definately an experience. You can buy weird things like Llama foetus' and stillborn llamas, aswell as crocodile heads! Apparantly they're used in traditional practice as sacrifice and things. We looked around alot, but decided to pass on the llama carcus' and just bought some nice bags and a few pressies and things. We finished the day with another really lovely meal at the resteraunt inside the consulate building. It was amazing, such a fancy resteraunt, and we paid peanuts for it. Think we're going to find Peru expensive after Bolivia! Tomorrow we drive to Puno where we begin our excursion of the floating reed islands...exciting!
