Travelling through Awesome Adventures was, well, awesome! We stayed only one night in Nadi, finally managing to find our hotel after AA sent us to the wrong one and made us pay for the taxi back. The next day we were off to Beachcomber Island. Probably the most beautiful island we've ever been to. It took us about 5min to walk around the island and we were surrounded by caribbean blue water and beautiful coral reefs. We stayed in a dorm with 99 other people, girls seperated from the boys by a thin, thin wall. Since the island was so small there was no way around but meeting new people (not that we don't want to!) and the first night we hung out with some swedes. Like barn leker best, oh yea. We were only there for 2 nights and stuck on an island with nothing to do but sunbathing and expensive water sports, we did snorkelling 4 times, two days in a row. But it's so cool looking at the beautiful coral reefs and colourful fish, I wish my waterproof camera was there with me to experience it all. Will save up to buy a disposable one in Australia though. The second night was an eventful one, and T decided to join in on the limbo contest! But when she saw who she was competing against she quickly backed out after just one round: 1.10m 7 year olds and VERY flexible locals. After that we watched some hula dancing (apparently it cannot even be compared to the Hawaiian way) and some serious drinking. (Coming from a slightly drunk Danish guy and an Australian boy putting it all on his daddy's tab.) All in all it was a very successful last night. Next day we were headed for Manta Ray, which was by far the biggest island we went to (out of Beachcomber and Manta Ray:P) When we arrived there everyone was just relxaing and hanging out on the beach and we felt we had to whisper while walking through to our dorm. Very different to beachcomber, which you might have noticed is considered as the party island. After settling in we decided to go kayaking, and obviously we went waaay too far as one of the staff had to take the boat out just to tell us we had to come back cause they couldn't spot us from the beach. You won't understand howit is possible to NOT see us when you see the photos of us in the blue and yellow lifejackets. And did we need a lift back? Wow..
We also met a Norwegian/Danish couple who we hung out with while eating delicious food, playing cards and snorkelling, again. Going back to the main island we had, through couchsurfing, found a Fijian family we were going to stay with for two nights. That included two hyperactive sons, a niese, a nephew and their two parents+ some extra relatives- we have no idea how they were related. We ended up spending most of our time playing cards, touch (har'n) and football with their 5 and 7 year olds while watching the 15 eyar old niese playing house keeper. We ate the meals on the ground and slept in the only bed in their tin house, and all in all it was very different, educational experience.
Today we arrived in Auckland, New Zealand, and so far so good! The day will be spent planning out our 3 weeks trip on a bus pass, doing all kinds of extreme sports; from black water rafting to skydiving, and we couldn't be more excited! Peace out for now
