We left alice springs at 10 and like normal chris got pulled over to have his bag checked for explosives. Then we arrived in Perth at about half 11. We flew over ayers rock, it looked really cool no need to pay for a helicopter ride now! Once we arrived we headed to Apollo. Where we were sorting out the camper BUT because chris and I thought we could pay cash we didn't have enough to pay. So chris rang his bank and few times and his card wasnt working. Eventually I was able to ring mum and finally everything worked out. (thank you mum) Then because we had been waiting so long at Apollo they gave us :
- free chairs
- table
- dido cd
- straw cowboy hats.
Then we headed to the food store and bought loads more beans and bread. Afterwards we headed to the campsite and finally got sorted and had a decent dinner and then worked out where we were going to stay for the next few nights.
Thursday, we headed to kalbarri which took about 5 or 6 hours. During the drive we didn't have much radio signal so we had to listen to dido, we should be her backing singers we know them of by heart now. Where we arrived at a campsite which we were the only campervan there.
Friday we drove for another 4 hours listening to dido still. We eventually got to the little town we were staying in. We booked into the caravan park and decided to walk to town. It turned out town was further than exspected we only got into the suburbs and then decided to head back because I had blisters and my feet were killing so were Chris's.
Saturday we drove into town and had a wander round but it was small and not as nice as exspected. Then we hit the road again to exmouth which took 5 hours. We have now got sick of listening to dido there is now only 2 songs from the cd we can bear and there really on our nerves too, looking forward to a radio station soon or at least podcasts. We booked into a caravan park and had a swim as it was pretty hot still. Afterwards we sat down and calculated what we would spend in our last week and a bit and worked out we had enough for a last supper before beans, beans and beans. It was amazing bbq pork ribs loved it.
Sunday we were up at 6.15 getting ready to go out with the whale sharks. We got picked up outside the caravan park at half 7. They drove us to the boat ramp and we then boarded a boat with a glass bottom boat which took us to our vessel. Once we were on we were given wetsuits and flippers and snorkel stuff, ten minutes later we were on the reef, swimming with nemo, turtle (crush), a sting ray which was massive much bigger than I expected. After that we headed back to the boat where we had morning tea and nibbles which were so nice. Then our spotter plane found our first whale shark. We were in the first group so we jumped in and found him. Well he was right in front of me trying to eat my bubbles, so I panicked and swam into the guide. Once we got away from the whale shark which had been circling us we got onto the boat then let the other group swim with him. Then we got back in again and there was a big on about 6 meters long which swam under chris and he kneed him in the nose by accident trying to swim away from him. I relaxed for a bit while chris went for another swim. Our last dive we swam next to a 8 meter long whale shark he was massive. We then had lunch which was salad and meat, was really nice. Afterwards we then went whale watching and saw a couple of humpbacks and turtles which were mating there was quite a few giggles from the boat. Then we saw manta rays swimming along side the boat and tuna jumping out the water and sea gulls trying to eat the little fish the tuna were eating. We then got back onto land and headed to our campsite for the night and had beans on toast.
