Hmm,

So arrived in Thailand at about seven in the evening local time. Was hustled in to a bus and promptly dropped off at a local travel agent. When it became clear that they weren't going to get any money out of me, they relented and dropped me off at my accommodation.

I've got a room to myself which is nice, though the room has no windows and nothing in it, bar a very uncomfortable construction of foam and hard metal, which they claim is a bed and a towel railing! Because of the lack of windows I find that I am going to bed early and sleeping in late, because there is no natural light to wake me! After Australia, however, that is some what of a blessing because I was due to collapse from chronic exhaustion!!

I'm staying at Patong beach, which is the main beach in Phuket. The area is an absolute dive and I am yet to see an English man who isn't well in to his sixties, obese and on the arm of a beautiful thai girl who could do so much better! I shall be thankful to get out of here tomo, as there's nowhere to relax without being hassled to buy something by one of the locals!

I'm planning on going to an island called Ko Lanta tomo, which is the south east of Phuket. I wasn't supposed to be going there, but someone I know will be there and I want to go and meet with her, just to spend a few weeks relaxing! I know that there is no internet access or phone reception, so may drift off the edge of the world for a bit, but can assure all I'll be ok. I shall be staying at a resort called Last Beach. Hope all's well at home!
