Blimey Jenny it looks awful. I'm with Debbie, just make sure you look after yourself and stay safe, this doesn't look like the time to be gung ho.
Getting colder here now and I've finally resorted to lighting the fire. Actually it's nice to have a fire again and know that the chimney is safe! It also saves me putting the heating on and I don't really know why that seems to be important except that maybe that means it's really winter and I hate the winter. Just as well I'm off to see Dave again then.
Take care Jenny

Hope conditions are better soon, it must be frustrating so much teaching time being wasted. Tate well and truly on the mend and on the move. Went from slithering along like a snake to properly crawling from one end of the room to the other, seemingly overnight.
The weather has changed over the last few days and now a definate nip in the air and the nights are drawing in.
Anyway take care and stay safe xx

Just shared your phots with Jon's Mum. Take care from grey Launceston, just a little rain here and pasties for lunch. Look after yourself. Meryl

Hi Jen
Glad your safe. Sorry I will reply to your email, I've been letting time slip by. Your trip is certainly different from last time. I don't want to rub it in ,but our weather is unbelievable. Tempretures into the 80's, so you can imagine how hot it is in the classrooms. apparently they have forcast snow for October! Switzaland have already had their earliest fall. The weather seems to have gone mad. I'm not sure I'd go wading with crocs on the loose, but I suppose there is no choice if you need to get around. Speek to you soon and hopefully your faith in the computer repairer's will be rewarded and we can chat on skype.
Take extra care jo xx

Glad to hear Jenny and Ric arrived safely. I'm sure you'll enjoy their company. I know this flooding will go down as one of "life's big adventures" for all of you. The photos are amazing. Our early autumn has paused slightly with warmer weather forecast for the week, although today, Sunday, didn't pay heed to that forecast! SE Asia must seem so different to J & R after their travels in Central and South America. Take care and enjoy all the experiences of the coming week. We thoroughly appreciate the information in your and their blogs, which makes us feel part of the exploits too, without the wet feet, of course. x

Well, you'll be pleased to know that we are experiencing a late Indian summer. Cold morning and night but sunny and warm during the day. no rain in sight for a few days at least. Glad your visitors arrived safely and hope they manage to salvage some essence of the country despite the floods. I must warn you to be careful and constantly aware of waterborne deseases, never mind sprains and breaks. It all looks so dreadful from the security of UK. but you seem to be keeping cheerful. Hope everything improves rapidly for you all.
Any news of computer malfunction? Any diagnosis? Any treatment?
Doreen
Jenny glad you are safe, but you have had a worrying few days by the sound of things.
It must be so frustrating that you have gone all that way to teach and due to conditions ,you are unable to. Hope Jen either stayed put or reached you safely.
Things here all the same, take care, stay safe xx

Fantastic photos Jenny but none of you! Makes my feet itchy to be out exploring again.Packing going very slowly. Hurricane looks like it is going over the top of the country, some rain but not like yours. Battambang looks quite wealthy as well as interseting.Best wishes Meryl

Just viewed your photos- how do people manage to live in those conditions? What do you do with your photos ? You must have taken hundreds already and still months to go.
We are expecting the end of the hurricane here tonight and tomorrow and the wind has begun to rise. It has been a muggy day but overcast and the woods are swarming with cubs so I hope their tents are secure. the chickens learned how to come down the ladder by themselves and are busy ripping the lawn to pieces at the moment. They look rather scrawny but are only young so time will tell. Even Roger seems interested. Mrs K's money has finally come through so frantic divisions between the siblings. What a palavar getting money to USA-costs here, costs there, waiting days for clearance- charges at every move-banking is the profession which pays- remember that!why did we choose teaching? love from all. How's the computer?
Heather
Fabulous sunny day although the weather is due to change on Sunday, sadly. I watched Belle pick her third apple from the tree today- a cunning nudge of her nose and then- Oh, surpise- it fell at my paws! Chicken coop due on Monday- how long will it take for me to master the flatpack kit? Then how long before I can get some chickens? I am in the middle of making fezes for the panto but must soon begin the serious work of costumes! Took the week off from Cads but back in full throttle next week- masses to do as usual. The art exhibition seems to be going well but I can't wait now for it to finish and my running around delivering keys and acting as banker to end. Hope the computer soon mends and your news once again flows. Love from us all

Hi Jennifer
Sending this message from Slovakia, hope it finds you in good health.
Very interesting last entry, the rain and the conditions you are experiencing must certainly be a challenge and difficult to work in, it is very hard for us to understand how these families live in these conditions all the time.
Hope you will be able to get the computer fixed.
We are having a good break visiting Bratislava, had the opportunity yesterday to spend the day in Vienna., very easy to get there by hydrofoil takes 90minutes some of that time is going through a large lock which takes about 30 minutes.
The 2 capitals are only 60kms apart so are the 2 closest capitals in the world. Temperature is about 25c so very pleasant for siting seeing, the Danube is a very busy waterway for the cruise boats running from Romania through to Amsterdam
Jack arrived back in the UK on schedule haven't spoken to him yet, but despite the weather seems like he had a good time, he should have gone back to work today as planning a few more days away later in month to go to the Munich beer festival with some friends from Shrewsbury and uni.
Hotel we are staying in has a free mini bar and also computer in every room with free WiFi so making the most of using it.
Just have 1 more full day in Bratislava so plan on visiting the old town, there are some beautiful old buildings, so more photography and another book to get printed.
Will send another message when back in the uk
Take care
Janet and David

Floods look dangerous, are you sure you want to go to Battambang again? Surprisingly warm and sunny here today but a definite feel of Autumn in the air. Pat phoned for a lunch date.Sad news about your computer. x
