Just a quick one today folk, all the way from Surfer's paridise!
Our next stop was, as you may have guessed, Surfer's paridise - a smallish party town with some really good waves (not that i actually surfed them....)! we only spent a couple days there but it was nice to have a bit of relaxing time, and this was definitly the perfect hostel for that! i think actually its one of my faveourite hostels so far! it was called sun n surf and it was just so homely! all the rooms had tv's and en suites which makes a really impressive change and then the kitchen was massive and attached to a tv room with constant films showing and lots of bean bags...you get the idea, it was just nice basically :) or as Maddy would say, it was the little touches that made it, like rolled up sheets :P
so we got there pretty early in the day and chilled out for most of it, and had a really great meal at an actual restaurant in the evening (well, us girls did) - and by restaurant i mean NOT a fast food joint! i know, incredible huh! we also spent a nice afternoon at the beach, laughing our arses off whilst will and james attempted to impress a sweedish girl by making a sandcastle and soaking in the much needed sun (since you know, we havnt really had much lately :P) and then getting ready for the nights big bar crawl that we were taking part in - a hostel organised one so we figured it would be good. it wasnt. well it was in the way that we got given free cowboy hats and taken on a bus to each location, but then the places they took us to were pretty scanky....and thats being nice. the free drink in each place held me there for a while but after a bartender in the second bar explained that there were no mirrors in the girls bathrooms because the girls kept pulling them off the walls and using them to glass each other...i decided it was time for home. I however was the first to go, and whilst i was away, a number of things happened including Will's amazing ability to attract and be hit on by not one, but two gay men within the space of an hour....very impressive if you ask me and its his own fsault anyway, he shouldnt have looked so damn brokeback'esque in his cowboy hat :P
Sunday (i.e. today) has been a really nice day as well, me and soph started off with some french toast from a little place called cafe marmalade, and then it was definitly a beach day. All day, with about 10 mins exception where i went on a munch run to the nearest shop...but then it was back to the beach again :) me and the girls had decided that we were going to cook for the boys that evening, just to show em how its done :P so we went off shopping in the early evening and decided on fajita's! whilst we were actually cooking, we suddenly realised we had bought enough food for about 20 people...but then we soon remembered we were cooking for 18/19 year old boys - so we needed enough food for 20 people! when it was all done though, and after i had actually shouted at james for daring to eat bread before his dinner (oops), the meal looked incredible, everyone in the hostel was envying our food and i gotta say it was really ncie for all 9 of us to sit at a table and eat together properly, a bit like a stange adopted mingled somewhat special family :P afterwards we all watched 'i love you man' on the telly and again, it was like we were this littel family, all snuggled together on beanbags - definitly a really nice night :)
and that leads me to now, see i told you it was a short one, but tomorrow the big split happens. the girls are going to Moloolaba for couple of days and the boys are off to Brisbane and then we all meet back together in Noosa - very strange indeed! still, should be interesting to hear the stories of what they get up to when we arnt around...i should think its pretty similar to what happens when we are around!
