Hi Everybody,
This is likely be our last update unless we find time at the airport on Friday.....YES thats right THIS Friday!!!!!!!!! We honestly cannot believe that the holiday is almost over however we are looking forward to getting back and seeing everybody.
The past two weeks have been the most laziest of the entir holiday. The weather is soo hot we rarely get outside before the afternoon. Ed and Tony were great to stay with. We saw the local area and visited several nice places to eat.
Last Tuesday we went to a baseball game which was certainly a new experience. I honestly bellieve it may be more boring than cricket. So little happens it even finished earlier than we expected but have no idea why. However, it was only $5 and the crowd was entertaining. After the game they had a large fireworks display which made aitting through the game worthwhile.
The following day was fourth of July so went to the nearest big town Sarasota. Again the had some amaziong fireworks however it was the general atmosphere and carnival like feeling that made the night fun. It included a Moscow State Circus show during which a local juggler performed. He was useless and dropped every thing he tried to juggle. His finale was the juggling of flaming sticks. We were genuinely terrified that he would burn himsef or the crowd but some how there were no serious casualties. It was a great evening.
The rest of the time in Brandenton was spen lazing at the pool, reading and going to the cinema (Transformers is awesome).
On Saturday we met up with Jenny and Mark at Busch Gardens. It is a great theme park although I will admit that I chickened out of the big rides Jen rode one and was ill afterwards but she did enjoy it. i was glad that Jenny was as much of a wimp as I. The carosel in the picture was about as much as I could handle!!!! The animal sanctuary areas are very impressive there was a genuine feeling that the animals were well looked after and lived a good life which is better than in many places. We had a great day and spent about 12 hours there before driving up to Gainesville.
yesterday we visited a local river where you can get a rubber tube and float down it for about 2 hours. Incredibly lazy but very fun. The wildlife was great especially laughing at the hicks and red necks. It only cost about $8 you can't beat that for value. In the evening we went to the cinema before having a nice meal.
We are staying here one more night before going to Orlando tomorrow. We are then visiting Universal on Wednesday and Thursday. Before flying back on Friday evening.
Once back it will be a bit chaotic but we will try to catch up as quick as we can.
Hope you are all well.
All our love
Rob and Jen
