Day 1:- So day 1 was sept mainly travelling….2 flights and then an hr car ride to hotel….when i arrived at the hotel - tired was an understatement. Id actually been awake about 36 hrs, gained 5 hrs and travelled for over 8 - I was very confused.
The 2nd flight - vom - well it didn't start well but it was OK once we finally took off. We sat on the runway for 45 mins with NO air con on the plane and it was 34 degrees….I felt so sick, but finally when we took off and I got fed I was happy (whats new??)
Arrived at hotel and the staff couldnt of been more happy and friendly…and finally I am in my room…..but all that was on my mind was food…of course. So off I go to eat and then back at hotel, a swim and bed, I lasted until 830pm…and I was out!!!
Oh BTW the bed…so comfy, I wish I could of packed it and brought it with me.
Day 2:- First full day, gym at 530am, ya know as ya know when your jet lagged, dont know what day it is and on holiday?? anyone??
So anyways after my gym session, I went to brekkie, now if you know me you know I love food….and omg the brekkie was amazing, this woman was actually making omelettes to order, I mean hello??? how amazing is that and there was fresh beetroot and ginger juice, heaven???
Anyways….enough about food, I started off with my trustee map and off I went to explore Toronto, now the clouds where there and it wasn't the warmest but hey Im from England, nothing new is it!
I started by walking to the CN tower and up I went, now this is about 580 (or something like that) metres about the sky and the views are unreal, now they had a small glass floor…from the pictures I look so brave and like I really embraced it, Ill be honest in reality I was crapping myself and it took me about 20mins to just to put my foot on it, I knew it wouldn't break, I mean it hols all theses big animals and surely my 11stone body is smaller than them but still it was really scary but I finally done it and I have the pics to prove….go see haha. I then walked all round, I went to Kensington Market, China Town, Queen Street, Eaton Centre….to say I walked the legs off myself would be an understatement….by the time i finally got into bed Id done like 28km….yes 28km, London marathon here I come - ok maybe not, but dya get the picture?? I actually got into bed tonight and my legs were throbbing,,,,hows that??
Toronto is fab, and I am impressed at how many healthy eateries, vegan and gluten free options there is, especially in Kensington Market (oh here I go again talking about food)
So much to see and so many amazing buildings and also people
Well tomorrow I get to meet my group and hopefully this amazing adventure continues.
Day 3:- The Meet Up!! This morning I went the gym (standard) to try and loosen off my legs from yesterdays hike. So I had a welcome brekkie with my group which is mostly aussies, 2 irish and 4 Uk (inc me) so its guna be interesting, always we had brekkie and welcomed each other and then we set off on our day - NIAGARA
We stopped on the way at Niagara at the Lake, which was this small little quaint town and for some reason its reminded me of something off like murder she wrote - I kept expecting Jessica to pop out - but she never. So always off the bus we got and I went for walk and lo and behold I found a Christmas Shop…so i got my deccie and was as happy as pigs in poo!!! Such a lovely little place with lots of little shops and cafes, so I got food and some ice cream - maple of course, ya know when in Canada and that
Ok..the main event - NIAGARA FALLS!!! There are no words that can explain this experience, event he pictures dont do it justice, We got our ponchos…..how fab haha and then boarded the Hornblower….and off we sailed, right into the falls….absolutely drenched, literally a drowned rat but dya know what it was 100% worth it, what an experience, such an amazing thing to see and be part of and I am feeling totally grateful right now…..cannot believe Ive just been to Niagara Falls…wooohooo - big TICK off the bucket list.
I felt like I was in a dream, it was an experience I will never forget!!
We then went to the top if the falls and got to see the view from above which was fab, but I deffo wouldn't wanna fall down - imagine?? I mean thats no splash world water slide is it?? Imagined going down there on a Lilo haha…..no ta!!
We headed back to the hotel and then had dinner and then bed, seriously again about lights out by 830pm…soz aba me!!!
Toronto its been great, amazing city and so much to see and do, you've exceeded my expectations and Id love to come back
