Have made it across to the south island via Wellington, and it is beautiful. Had a couple of nights in Picton which was lovely - stunning surrounding scenery of Queen Charlotte Sound, and managed a walk to Snout Point with vies over the sound. Havne't managed to do tongariro crossing due to the weather, had a shorter walk yesterday to Huka Falls and Craters of the Moon and met up with family friends today which was lovely. Crazy! Am now in auckland - arrived yesterday and slowly adapting back to western life - have managed hair cut and bit of retail therapy! Busy planning and sorting trying to fit everything into the 6 weeks. Heading north initially to have a dive and then back towards coramandel peninsula. Hope all good - still feeling a wee bit dazed with jetlag - food is needed! lots love jenx

Arrived here in Santiago this morning with a 3 hour flight from Calama rather than a 20 hour bus journey! Had an amazing 3 day trip through Salar de Uyuni with incredible scenery, although by the end was pleased to get out of the jeep after long days on unsealed roads.
