We went to a museum today and learned about hurricane Tracey that hit in the 70s on Christmas eve wiping out the entire north eastern coast and thousands were killed and everyone else had to be evacuated, I think that must be part of why the north is so behind the times, it seems like every time they make progress war or natural disaster seems to wipe them out.
It is kind of making me sad with the whole aboriginal situation, they really really got the short end of the stick, they got all their land taken from them, and now over half the integrated population struggles with alcoholism. They are slowly getting help from the government, and having land handed back to them to preserve their original way of life. Back to the hotel, which was fun we had a pizza party and a girl tripped full on tackling me into the pool in my clothes, so a bunch of people jumped in in their clothes to to make us feel better haha.
