BULA!
I am still enjoying all that Fiji has to offer. I am currently on the coral coast (southern) of Fiji staying at a place called Mango Bay resort. I am in a beachfront hut as I could not resist the view or the price. I will leave this location on Tuesday for the next part fo the bus tour. We will do a tek through the highlands and then some river tubuing with local kids at the village. There are few signs of any unrest or stuff related tothe change in governments. I have been part of a bus tour aroudnt he main island called the Feejee experience. It has been amazing. We visited a coastal village yesterday where all the houses have a view of the pacific ocean! All Fijians own their own land, many live in these villages where most people are related, the villages have Chiefs, and it si just an amazing culture.
By our (American) standards their dwellings are less than livable, but here they are gold. In fact, when you look at their faces, see them smile, feel their warmth and good souls, you can beleive that they are as rich as can be. The children are so amazing - even without the internet! :) I have been learning a great deal about the people of fiji, their culture, their beliefs. I have also been learning a great deal about myself.
I am trying hard to upload pictures but it looks liek it may be next weekend before that is possible. The internet is slow and expensive in this part of the world. I hope all of you are well and I will be in touch when I can.
