We joyously embarked from Naples today, ready for a new city and new experiences. Several hours later we arrived in the Eternal City! A ride on the metro brought us to an area on the west side of Rome where we waited for about half an hour before our bus came. Eventually we reached our destination, the campground we would call home for the next 5 nights. After waiting at reception for about an hour we finally got checked in and dropped our bags off at our tent. Since it was already rather late and we didn't fancy another bus and metro ride to get back into downtown, we figured we'd just chill at the campsite for the night and save sightseeing for the next 4 days. Luckily there was a giant supermarket across the street so we headed over there in search of some drinks. For some reason we felt like White Russians but like everywhere else we've been in Italy, we were unable to find Kahlua. So we settled for a bottle of some chocolate liquor that came with mini cookie shot glasses. It turned out to be a huge mistake, the liquor was completely vile and in no way tasted like chocolate. So we started giving out shots to people passing by our tent, met some fellow travelers and spent the rest of the night playing cards with them. Our agenda for tomorrow is sure to make up for this uneventful day, with plans to hit up the major sites like the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain, so we called it a night, anxious to see what Rome has in store for us.
