Greetings from Thailand,
I want to thank all of you for keeping me in your prayers and I want to update you on how my journey has been thus far.I have experienced many new things that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.God has already begun to show me more about his character and more about my character.I feel very blessed to be here and thank all of you for supporting me and keeping me in your prayers. They have really helped a lot.
I love the culture here. The people are very friendly and humble.I have met and made friends with many of the Thai people here.I have developed very special bonds with my friend X, and my friend Art.They have taken the time to learn about the American culture from me and share their culture as well.Regretfully their English has progressed far more than my Thai. The first few weeks of my training school Art and me hardly talked. He speaks very limited English and I speak relatively no Thai. After a week we started to bond about the one thing that all teenage boys have in common…cute girls! That was the beginning of our friendship and he has grown into a friend that I can depend on and grow with.
The first few weeks I loved the food here.A typical meal here consists of rice, very spicy fried chicken or pork, vegetables, and really weird fruit. After the two weeks of bliss I needed a McDonalds run.I am already very bored of the food but manage to deal with it.By the end of this my taste buds with definitely acquire spice.
The days here are jammed pack with Jesus. From the moment we wake up till we go to bed we are constantly striving to develop a closer relationship with him.I have learned so much about who our God really is.One thing that I have learned here is how God can speak to us.Putting God inside a box is something that I definitely do.I am learning how to better listen to God speak and put all my trust in him.
My time here this first month has been a huge learning experience for me and I can't wait to see what God has in store for me next. Please continue to pray for me.I apologize that I haven't updated my blog. The Internet here is next to zero and I try and not go to the Internet café and spend money. At the very least I plan on writing you all a letter similar to this updating you all on how I am doing. Some areas that you can all pray for me are
·That I will learn to listen to the Lords voice better.
·For the money situation with my Thai friends. Many of them have only paid a very small percentage of there DTS fees.
·That God's Will would be carried out here.
