Our second day has passed. It started off alright with a nice breakfast of croissants and baguettes that in France you can order from the camping ground and the baker delivers them fresh in the morning.
We were starting a day of about 40 km. At the end of our first road however we noticed that the gps had made a mistake. The route he suggested was closed off by a big gate of some factory. So we had to turn back (a steep climb up) and ask for a different route.
We still arrived early afternoon and went for a swim in the pool of the camping. Then we set off to explore the city of Aix-en-Provence. We had decided to take the bus, but as we missed our stop in the center of the city, we had a nice site seeing tour. Once the bus road the whole way back, we found our stop and got off.
The city itself is beautiful. Around every corner there seems to be a water fountain. We had read on the internet that we had to go and buy Callissons (a local specialty candy/pastry which is made of almonds and tastes a bit like marzipan), so we did.
Sira's sister had told us that we should have wine instead of fizzy drinks in France, as that would be cheaper, so that night we decided to buy a bottle of wine and have some nice spaghetti.
For tomorrow we've got our first big day planned. A 80 km ride to Le Luc.
